Perhaps this is the Amistad with Capt Bill Pinkney. It was the ship's maiden voyage of the schooner. The Amistad was mide famous in 1839 by a rebellion of 53 enslaved Africans who ultimately won their freedom in the Supreme Court. There is more information about the Amistad at their web site.
