15 Year Anchor Line

After about 7 years, the anchor line was exchanged end to end and spliced. After another 7 years, this is the result. We anchored out most every summer weekend. It held for the recent July 4th, 2014 storm with gusts up to 45 mph. The force on the line goes as the square of the wind speed? The burn marks are where the line was spliced around the chain link. Looks a little over due, but without unraveling the slice you might never see this. It just looked a little rusty from the chain links as you can see elsewhere on the line.
